How to View Report Activity
Quick Reference
Every case in IntegrityCounts has an Activity Log that records a complete, timestamped history of every action taken. This is your built-in audit trail, showing who did what and when, from the moment a case is filed through to closure.
How to View the Activity Log
Step 1: Open the Case
From the Case Manager Dashboard, click on the case you want to review.

Step 2: Click the Activity Tab
In the case view, click the Activity tab in the left sidebar. The full history of the case loads in reverse chronological order (newest first).

What the Activity Log Tracks
The activity log captures the following events automatically:
- Case viewed by a specific user
- Messages sent or received (both reporter messages and internal messages)
- Case details edited (location, department, case type, status, priority changes)
- Attachments uploaded or removed
- Investigators assigned or removed
- Restricted managers added or removed
- Tasks created, updated, or completed
- Tags added or removed
- Status changes (Open, Pending, Closed)
- Validation type and action type set
Each entry shows the user who performed the action, the action taken, and a precise timestamp.
Why the Activity Log Matters
The activity log serves three critical functions:
- Audit compliance: Demonstrate to auditors and regulators that investigations were handled thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- Investigation continuity: When a new investigator joins a case, they can see exactly what has happened so far.
- Accountability: Every action is attributed to a specific user, ensuring full transparency in case handling.
The activity log cannot be edited or deleted by any user, ensuring the integrity of the audit trail.
Key Takeaways
The Activity Log is an automatic, tamper-proof record of everything that happens on a case. Use it for audit evidence, investigation handoffs, and accountability. No setup required; it tracks everything by default.
