What is a restricted manager?
Quick Reference
A restricted manager is a case manager who has been blocked from viewing a specific case in IntegrityCounts. This ensures that individuals who may have a conflict of interest, or who are implicated in a report, cannot access the details of that case.
How Does Someone Become Restricted?
There are two ways a manager can be restricted from a case:
- Automatically: When you file a report and use the Protect Your Report feature to name specific individuals, IntegrityCounts checks whether any of those individuals are case managers. If they are, they are automatically restricted from viewing your case.
- Manually: A case manager with appropriate permissions can manually restrict another manager from a case at any time during the investigation. This is done through the Restricted Managers section within the case.
What Happens When a Manager Is Restricted?
A restricted manager:
- Cannot see the case in their Case Manager dashboard
- Cannot find the case through search
- Does not receive notifications about the case
- Cannot view the case in any reports or exports
- Has no indication that the case exists
The restriction is completely invisible to the restricted person.
Can a Restriction Be Removed?
Yes. A case manager with the appropriate permissions can remove a restriction at any time. All restriction changes are recorded in the case's Activity Log for audit purposes.
Key Takeaways
Restricted managers are blocked from seeing specific cases to protect reporter confidentiality and prevent conflicts of interest. Restrictions happen automatically through the Protect Your Report feature or can be set manually by other case managers.
