How to Message a Reporter
Messaging a reporter is more than an administrative step — it’s your direct line of communication with the individual who brought forward a concern. A timely, respectful message shows responsiveness, encourages continued cooperation, and supports the transparency your program depends on.
Why It’s Important
- Drives engagement: When reporters see active communication, they’re more likely to provide follow-up details or evidence.
- Demonstrates accountability: Regular updates signal that the case is being handled carefully and confidentially.
- Supports anonymity: The secure portal allows two-way communication without revealing the reporter’s identity.
How to Send a Message
1. Click Login on the top right on integritycounts.ca

- If your organization has purchased SSO capability through IntegrityCounts, select your company name and log in with your regular work credentials.
- If your organization does not use SSO, log in with your IntegrityCounts username (your email address) and the password you created during registration.

2. Open the Case Manager Dashboard.
3. Select the case you wish to message.

4. From the left-hand menu, choose Message Reporter.
5. Click Create Message.

6. Enter your message in the Description field. Keep it professional, concise, and relevant to the case.
7. Choose Submit to send immediately or Save Draft to finish later.

When sent, IntegrityCounts notifies the reporter by email that a new message is available and prompts them to log in to read it.
For Strictly Anonymous Reporters
If a reporter opted to remain fully anonymous and did not provide an email address, they won’t receive notifications. They’re advised to log in periodically with their case number and password to check for new messages. (e.g., IC84302 and password)
Tips for Effective Messaging
- Send an acknowledgment promptly after a report is received.
- Use clear, factual language and avoid speculation.
- Ask for clarification or additional details when needed.
- Provide periodic updates so the reporter knows the case is progressing.
Consistent communication through the Message Reporter feature helps build trust, maintain engagement, and ensure cases move forward with transparency and care.
